Never Buried
(Leigh Koslow Mystery Series Book 1)
by Edie Claire
From the Publisher: A young advertising executive finds her life in turmoil--she just lost her job, she may or may not have a boyfriend, and she's trying to help her cousin through a pregnancy.
If that weren't enough, she wakes up to find a strange man lying in her backyard hammock.
The fact that he is dead, and apparently has been embalmed for years, doesn't exactly help.
With lots of time on her hands and a knack for nosing around, the young woman finds herself in the middle of a classic murder mystery. But can she solve the riddle before the killer puts her six feet under?
From Me: I really enjoyed this book! It grabbed my attention quickly with its fast pace and kept me guessing. I liked this story line because of it's excellent balance of humor, suspense and mystery.
Leigh is living with her very pregnant cousin, Cara, in Pennsylvania because her (Cara's) husband is in Tokyo for business. The book begins with the mystery: a body shows up in a hammock in the backyard. And that's where it all starts.
The women start receiving threats demanding they leave the house. The two women assume that something is in the house that's important to the people making the threats. So they start searching for it. The more they search, however, the more aggressive the threats become.
The book provides tons of twists and turns and is sure to put a smile on your face with its delivery. And the ending is one that you will not see coming!
I rate this book at:
4 Stars (COFFEE TALK! Wonderful book. I believe most others will like it.)
I'll definitely be reading the next book in this series by Edie Claire!
